Rheinmetall Driver Training Simulator Leopard 2 – DTS

Image
Rheinmetall - The DTS of Rheinmetall is used to train drivers of the Main Battle Tank (MBT) Leopard 1 A5 and the Armoured Infantry Vehicle (AIFV) CV 9030N in a synthetic environment on simulated road and cross-country terrain. There is also a special emphasis on snow and ice driving, for which it is difficult and dangerous to train with real tanks. The DTS comprises for each type of vehicle two training stations which include a replica drivers cabin with the original interior and a motion system with six degrees of freedom to simulate the real driving behaviour.

JGSDF Parade 2016

Image
Japan Ground & Air Self Defense Forces Parade 2016 : Full Military Assets Segment The Japan Self-Defense Forces, or JSDF, occasionally referred to as JSF, JDF, or SDF, are the unified military forces of Japan that were established in 1954, and are controlled by the Ministry of Defense. In recent years they have been engaged in international peacekeeping operations including the UN peacekeeping. Recent tensions, particularly with North Korea, have reignited the debate over the status of the JSDF and its relation to Japanese society. New military guidelines, announced in December 2010, will direct the JSDF away from its Cold War focus on the former Soviet Union to a focus on China, especially regarding the territorial dispute over the Senkaku Islands.

British Army - Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank

FNSS & PT Pindad - 105mm Modern Medium Weight Tank Simulation

Image
Indonesia's PT Pindad and FNSS Savunma Sistemleri of Turkey have revealed details of the Modern Medium Weight Tank (MMWT) that the companies are partnering to develop. Under the terms of this joint development programme, which started two years ago, two prototypes are being built, one in Indonesia and the other in Turkey, both of which are scheduled to be completed sometime in 2017. There will be one additional hull that will be used for ballistic and mine protection trials. The main role of the MMWT will be to engage light and medium armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) such as reconnaissance platforms, infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and combat support vehicles, rather than tackling heavier, well-armed MBTs. The MMWT is also slated for use in the direct-fire support role, operating in conjunction with mounted and dismounted infantry in a similar manner to that carried out by MBTs in Afghanistan and Iraq. For many tactical situat...

Aselsan Akkor Active Protection System

Image
An active protection system is a system designed to prevent line-of-sight guided anti-tank missiles/projectiles from acquiring and/or destroying a target. AKKOR. equipped with both hard kill and soft kill functionalities as an Electronic Warfare (EW) Self Protection suit, provides complete protection against all kinds of anti-tank missiles and rockets for the armored vehicles with an optimum time and the safest distance range from the platform. Softkill measures are applied when it is expected that a sensor-based weapon system can be successfully interfered with. The threat sensor can be either an artificial one, e.g., a solid-state infrared detector, or the human sensory system (eye and/or ear). Except for countering intercontinental ballistic missiles, hardkill measures generally refer to measures taken in the so-called "end-game" shortly before a warhead/missile hits its target. The hardkill measure in general physically affects the incoming warhead/missile by m...
