The 1st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (French: 1er Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine, 1er RPIMa) is one of three regiments in the French Army Special Forces Brigade (BFST). The 1er RPIMa is one of Europe's most experienced Special Operations Forces, and has been constantly operationally deployed right from the beginning of its new role over thirty years ago. Stern. Sharp. Bossy. All have been used to describe the voice of the Boeing F/A-18’s cockpit warning system. The pilots and technicians refer to the voice as "Bitchin’ Betty," a time-honored tradition that is also potentially life-saving. Leslie Shook,her voice is used in the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. Bitching Betty is a slang term used by some pilots and aircrew (mainly North American), when referring to the voices used by some aircraft warning systems. The enunciating voice, in at least some aircraft systems, may be either male or female and in some cases this may be selected according to pilot preference. If the voice is female it may be referred to as Bitching Betty; if the voice is male it may be referred to as Barking Bob.
