DCNS SCORPENE® 2000 Submarine

The Scorpene® 2000 submarine is ideally suited for action and operational effectiveness. It is designed for long-range and oceanic deployments. Robust and multipurpose, it fulfils the entire scope of missions:
anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare,
strikes against land-based objectives,
integration in a naval force,
special operations,
offensive minelaying,
area surveillance and blockade,
intelligence gathering.
Integrating the improvements from Barracuda, Scorpene® 2000 has the latest cutting-edge capabilities.
The Scorpène class of ships has four subtypes: the CM-2000 conventional diesel-electric version, the AM-2000 AIP derivative, the downsized CA-2000 coastal submarine, and the enlarged S-BR for the Brazilian Navy, without AIP.
The Chilean and Malaysian boats are fitted with the TSM 2233 Mk 2 sonar. The class can also be fitted with an 'S-Cube' sonar suite from Thales.
